Program

The program at Camp Sertoma offers opportunities for fun, skills development, and education in an outdoor environment. The program is professionally planned to meet the needs of each child. Children are placed in groups with seven other children according to age and previous camp experience.

Children at Camp Sertoma are placed in an entirely new and exciting setting where they can enjoy the company of others in group activities or play and work alone or in small groups. Activities are stressed which help children develop independence and responsibility and at the same time provide enjoyment and fun. Children are encouraged to do things for themselves. Under skilled supervision, they might build a campfire, cook a simple meal, or build a raft for an all-camp raft race.

In addition to personal and housekeeping chores, the campers engage in such activities as nature hikes, archery, sailing, camp-fires, cookouts, fishing, boat rides, instructional swim, overnight camping trips, recreational games, singing, arts and crafts, and numerous other activities.
